Biography and History of Seven Day and its Founder
Seven Day Living Centers were established in 1988 as holistic centers which teach people healthy living practices. They came about after our founder,
Vicki Wantland, had an uncommon spiritual calling which caused her, in 1985,
to devote her life in service. In 1988, she believed she was being asked to
teach people how to live and that she must let go of her profitable business,
Medical Weight Loss Clinics, to do this. Along with her husband, she had
owned and operated more than twenty clinics and employed many nurses
and medical doctors during the twelve years their businesses flourished.
For three of these years, some of their physicians administered chelation
therapy and other alternative healing treatments.
Unfortunately, their primary cash flow had been derived from the weight loss program which included medication. These programs consisted of physical examinations, lab work, medication and nutritional counseling. In March 1989,
Ms.Wantland discontinued the medication. Being spiritually aware, she knew
in her heart that she could no longer, in good conscience, continue to dispense
drug medication for the purpose of weight management. She replaced the medication with natural supplements, counseling, classes and body wraps.
All but a few patients left, leaving a handful of paying customers in four clinics. She closed three of the clinics and expanded the one she kept in Vista, CA.
A name was needed for the new business venture and corporation. After her calling in 1985, Vicki was introduced to the science of numerology and discovered that, according to the numerology of her birthdate July 26, 1954,
her life purpose was a seven, meaning spiritual. Since this information was
made known to her the year after she heard "I want you to help me" from a loud voice within the universe on the first day she awoke truly happy to be alive, she had conviction that she was following the right path and that "Seven"
needed to be in the name. She sought a second word and arrived at "Sun"
until she learned that "Seven Sun" was unavailable. She then saw that "day" represented "sun." Seven Day was available. Its application became clear.
She understood that she was being called to teach good, clean living...the key
to happiness, and the message that happiness is found within the region of
our own souls rather than from people, places or things.
The philosophy of Seven Day was developed. "There are no quick fixes in
magic pills. It is a slow, re-education each day of our lives, seven days as it
was written, not one out of seven like they teach in some churches but
seven out of seven, good clean living. The body was designed to heal. If
man would live within the laws of God/nature, the body would heal but with
our hatreds, resentments and the substances we put into our bodies we
destroy our own lives."
Ms. Wantland strived to establish a school to teach the medical community
health and nutrition and had several qualified and degreed professionals on
board. Unable to continue to pay a staff, she opted to return to college in
order to obtain the degrees she would need to train the helping professionals herself. She attended college full-time from 1991 until 2000, obtained four associate degrees in Human Services, a bachelors in Health Science:
Community Health Education and School Health Education, and a masters
degree in Adult Education. She completed a correspondence program from
the School of Natural Healing, Springville UT, and all of the certificate
programs offered at the School of Cosmic Energetic Healing in Chehalis, WA.
Ms. Wantland opened an office in Burlington, WA in 1998, where she
began to promote and develop the components of Seven Day Living Institute including a four hundred page curriculum entitled Foundation For Living.
She has written the second part to this curriculum: Sustainable Community Activist and has completed writing a book entitled Blueprint for the 21st Century...A Guide to Being a Healthy Role Model. The content of this book
is included as a reference guide for our trainers course. When our students
have completed both parts of the Foundation For Living course and other
course requirements, they will receive certificates as a Certified Healthy Role Model and Sustainable Community Activist, plus an additional
certification as a Sustainable Living Educator.
